Millie Hurst – Te’enah Room Leader (Baby Room)

I have worked in childcare for many years in both schools and nurseries. I have a NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Education and am always keen to do further courses and qualifications to further my knowledge and skills.

I enjoy planning fun, creative and hands-on activities. I love taking the children outdoors to explore their senses and broaden their experiences. I am passionate about my role and have a very caring and gentle approach when working with children. I work well with parents/carers and outside professionals to ensure each child gets the individual care they require.

As well as early years education I enjoy drama and performing arts. This enables me to be a proactive, practical and fun practitioner who loves to see children develop and grow in confidence.

I am also very passionate about charity work. In February 2019 I travelled to Uganda with the charity ‘UGANDAID’ where I spent time working with underprivileged children and adults. From this I was able to help these individuals gain access to an education and therefore have the opportunity to a brighter future. This experience opened my eyes massively and enhanced the importance of education from an early age.
